The move started in march, 2004, when the parish priest and vicar general of Aba Diocese, Rev Msgr. Ralph A. Nwosu announced to the parishioners that his Lordship, Most Rev Dr V.V Ezeonyia the local ordinary of Aba Diocese had given the approval for establishing a befitting Boy’s Secondary school in the parish. The announcement was greeted with a loud ovation from the people.
Following this development, therefore the parish priest formed a 5-man Education Committee comprising of the following:

Lady Oby Eyisi member
Lady Mary Otigbuo Member
The committee was duly innagurated and were charged with the responsibility to fashion out a model secondary school for boys. A school with Catholic orientation but with universal features.
Furthermore, on the terms of reference, the parish priest expressed his sympathy for our parents who have been sending their wards to far places in search of quality education when the parish was blessed with abundant educationist and educators who could satisfy the desires of our parishioners. The committee swung into action and after about six months of delibration they came out with the present plan and structure of SS Anthony and Jude’s College Umungasi Aba. When the proposal of the committee was approved by the diocese, it was agreed that the school should take off from the existing structures pending when it would move to permanent site.
To enable the school take off in September of the founding year, Mr Achinihu A.Ubani conducted the first school entrance Exams and interviews for the pioneer students. He also conducted interview for the pioneering staff both tutorial and non tutorial among whom were:
